This doesn't smell like an "old lady," it smells like a vintage perfume, which is exactly why I love it. Any lady who would have worn a scent like this probably isn't alive today. I am a perfume collector, and this is what my cabinet filled with vintage bottles of Shocking de Schiaparelli and Nuit de Noel, among others smells like. These are not scents I would wear, but I love to smell this candle burning while I bathe. I think it's complex and brilliant!

Does smell like an old-woman...
Deb K. (Chesterland, Ohio) 11/7/2011 5:22 PM
This really does smell quite similar to many older women I have met. It's very perfume-like and heady. The amber should be elegant and romantic but here it just cloying and it literally choked me up. I wanted it out of my house. Whenever I smell this burning at my sister's home I wind up gagging a little. It's just not my cup o' tea.

The Old Lady who lives across the street..
Ryan (Cleveland, Ohio) 11/7/2011 4:59 PM
This scent really, really reminds me of old ladies. I'm sorry. It just has a very perfume-like quality to it that unfortunately comes across WAY too heady and musky to me. I bought this thinking the blend of bergamot, orange blossom and cedar would lend this fragrance a nice complex, rich depth but this was straight-up old-woman who lives across the street with lots of cats and layers on the perfume. You know the one. The spooky lady who gives out pennies on Halloween to trick or treaters. This is her scent. I just feel like the fragrance notes on this are beyond off. I didn't catch any of the beautiful notes listed. :( I actually disliked this candle that I wound up giving it away after about two burns to one of my aunts. Not a fan of this.
