The Ember candle is part of the Modern Alchemy collection by D. L. & Co. In this Ember candle, the rich fragrance of a dying fire lives in this woody blend of balsam syrup, pine pitch and the rare, smoldering perfume of copal resin. This 10oz candle and has a burn time of approximately 50 hours.
Alchemy was the medieval pursuit to transform un-precious metals into gold through a combination of magic and science. Utilizing the rarest of extracts, essences, and absolutes, DL & Co is able to create fragrances that conjure time and place, transforming environments from the mundane to the sublime.
D.L. & Co candles are comprised of a patented blend of high-grade European waxes, many of which are used for luxury body creams and lotions. You can immediately fell the difference in the wax when you run your finger along its milky surface. Moist but not greasy, it is virtually absorbed into the skin upon contact. This formula not only burns cleaner than any other candle, it also houses the delicately balanced essential oils without altering their fragile character. The wax in these candles is specifically designed to have a low melting temperature, thereby yielding a greater liquified surface area by which to better release the fragrance held within. The wick used in all D.L. & Co. candles is hand-braided cotton and lead-free. Be sure to trim your wick to 1/4" every time you burn a candle to ensure the best results.

D.L. & CO. is one of the BEST Luxury candle lines a person can buy. They burn beautifully, they almost always smell incredible and they are as sleek and high-end as you could imagine. I haven't really been that huge of a fan of the black line of fragrances that they have come out with though. I first tried the Eros scent, which had a sweetness mixed with a musk scent that reminded me too much of body odor. I liked this scent a little more but for some reason I actually was still catching random notes of curious scents as this burned that I can't say I was a huge fan of. This line has a true darkness to it that goes far beyond the color of the glass. This is a sultry scent. There is nothing frilly or light about it. It is heavy and deeply sensual. This is the kind of scent I envision rock stars enjoying on there tour buses or during after hour "parties" backstage. Yet, despite that completely RANDOM thought, the scent FEELS expensive and classy. The ingredients are of the finest quality and they blend together incredibly well. I just can't put my finger on what it is that didn't appeal as much to me as some other "dark" and "heady" scents that I have burned in the past. When I want a dark, brooding fragrance I normally go for D.L. & CO's Historical line with scents like Dia De Los Muertos (which is my #1 favorite candle EVER) or possibly even there Opium Den scent (which reminds me of my grunge-based teen years. This one isn't a candle I would buy...but, the experience of burning it has been interesting. I want to try more of the White fragrance line. These candles just keep making me curiouser and curiouser for more...I hope they only keep getting better & better! :)
