Cozy Cabin in the Woods

I am so literal when it comes to tree fragrances. I expect deep woods and crisp needles. It took me years to finally try this fragrance as the cold throw smells nothing like a forest so I dismissed it. Huge mistake on my part. Now I know why this fragrance is so popular. It's warm, inviting and relaxing. I love the way the bergamot and nutmeg compliment the wood notes. So rich and almost delicious. This is the complete opposite of a fresh, green forest and I love it just as much! It's more of the inside of a cozy cabin in the woods that you never want to leave. I highly recommend this fragrance. Great guy scent but not overly masculine. For me it burned cleanly and easily. Burn quality 4.5/5. Fragrance intensity 4/5.

I found myself splurging on one of these candles after seeing Jonathan Adler on Bravo's Top Design. He seemed like the kind of guy who would know how to create a scent with depth and vibrancy. I wasn't let down with Big Sur. I really love this kind of fragrance for the fall. The scent is both sweet and woodsy, which is always a big draw in for me. I adore the use of woods with nutmeg. Nutmeg always seems to tie a fragrance in perfectly with that whisp of spiciness that is prevalent at it's base. This is a very beautiful fragrance yet also fairly masculine and unisex. I enjoyed the scent. I did have a bit of a soot issue with this one though like one previous reviewer mentioned having. I did trim my wick to 1/4 inch before each burning but I still wound up with some billowing smoke. I think it was probably my fault though for leaving it too close to a window or for possibly (dumbly) burning it while my ceiling fan was on, so the soot was more due to human error then anything else. Wonderful scent though. I really liked it a lot!
