This formula not only burns cleaner than any other candle, it also houses the delicately balanced essential oils without altering their fragile character. The wax in these candles is specifically designed to have a low melting temperature, thereby yielding a greater liquified surface area by which to better release the fragrance held within. The wick used in all Modern Alchemy candles is hand-braided cotton and lead-free.

Sensual & Mysterious...

Brothel is one of the most sensual, dark, mysterious candles I have burned. This candle still leaves me wondering if I really enjoy the scent or not. There is something very dark about it. It has a very perfume-like quality to it that sort of reminds me of the coming together of an incense shop and a woman my grandmother used to play cards with every Saturday night. It's like two strange worlds crashed into eachother and created this perfume-like, musc based fragrance. The downfall of this for me was the fact that I was allergic to one of the notes. I had such massive sneeze attacks everytime I burned this one that I eventually had to pass the candle off to someone else. I did like it though despite my odd statement of it smelling like an incense shop melding with an older woman's perfume. There is something sensual about it that is really oddly compelling. It's very heavy and thick in the air when you burn it. If you like a cloying, sweet, perfume-like fragrance try this out. The vessels that Modern Alchemy create are beautiful and reusable. I put tea lights in them and they glow so beautifully. I wish I hadn't been allergic to this scent so I could have gotten more acquainted with it's mysterious ways. :)
