Peninsular Malaysia is home to some of the largest and most culturally important bamboo forests in the world, where it is used to make everything from baskets to paper to sustainable building materials. This tribute to this majestic plant is as crisp and natural as the bamboo itself, beginning with a layer of fresh green wood followed by the earthiness of amber and sandalwood, and finished off with a lightly floral grouping of tangerine flower, jasmine, freesia, lotus and tuberose. This generous Seda France 14oz hand-poured candle will provide approximately 60 hours of scented illumination.
Seda France candles was launched in 2001, but the inspiration springs from the classic French design element that is over 200 years old. Toile de Jouy, commonly called Toile, is a process for printing on cotton that was invented by a young French fabric manufacturer in 1759. Traditional motifs are inspired by the French countryside and typically include scenes of pastoral life and village festivals.
Seda France offers a new interpretation of this established classic with the visually arresting colors featured in the Toile line. Seda's hand-poured candles are presented in a variety of fresh colors that make elegantly presented gifts so beautiful that they don't need to be wrapped. I had the honor of getting a votive sized version of this mammoth 14 oz. candle over a year ago after first encountering Seda when buying there now discontinued Jaipur fragrance, which was a part of the Paisley collection. Seda has INCREDIBLE potency in there candles. When I say incredible, I mean extremely fragrant and noticeable when burning. Seda candles fill up a home like no other! I would put them on par with Nest as far as throw goes. While this candle didn't enthrall me as much as Jaipur (which I am pretty much broke over for stocking up on it before it went away forever) it certainly put a smile on my face. It's a really beautiful fragrance. I love that the sandalwood & amber soften the florals in this and calm notes that could have come off as too heady into something more tame and lovely. The crispness of this scent is apparent when it is lit almost immediately. I loved that the votive was a mystery to me. I kept guessing at the fragrances as I caught the candle's throw dancing in my area. The florals and the woods intermingle so beautifully. I normally would shy away from anything with Tuberose but I couldn't decipher it from the other floral accords of this, which was wonderful! This is one of Seda's best scents. I am looking forward totrying more from there wonderful line of home fragrances very soon!
